When Your Pet Is A Patient

When your pet is our patient, they will be treated with the greatest care and compassion. Feel free to call us with any questions or concerns.

What to Expect When Your Pet Is A Patient

During your pet’s hospitalization, our medical team will call with regular updates on your pet’s progress and condition. We know you are worried, and you miss your pet; if you would like to schedule an in-person visit, please ask. When your pet is ready to go home, we will review important information about your pet’s condition, follow-up care and medications.

After you go home with your pet, please call us when questions arise. We are always happy to speak with you about how you can ensure the best home care for your pet as he or she heals.

While your pet is a patient, he or she will be monitored at all times using experienced human observation and modern equipment. Patients undergoing treatment are never left unattended. Warm cages, heating pads, and human companionship help make your pet comfortable during his or her time at our hospital.

A veterinary referral from your family veterinarian helps us understand your pet’s full medical history and current diagnosis.

While in our care your pet will be treated for the condition for which they were referred. We will keep your family veterinarian updated on your pet’s condition and progress. No routine procedures (e.g. vaccinations) will be performed on any specialty patient.

Cost Estimates

When you set up your appointment, you will receive an explanation of initial exam fees.  The need for additional testing and treatments may not be known prior to the examination, so it may not be possible to estimate all of the costs in advance. Once the doctor has examined your pet, you will receive an assessment of your pet’s treatment options, plans, and estimated cost.

Payment Policy

Payment is required at the time services are provided. Cash, check, debit card, MasterCard, Visa, and Discover Card are accepted forms of payment. Care Credit and Wells Fargo Health Advantage are other payment options.

A deposit of the full amount of the estimated treatment plan will be required if your pet is staying at the hospital for evaluation or treatment.
