Dr. Julia Bergen earned her veterinary degree in 2019 from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine, where she completed her clinical year at Tufts Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine. She went on to complete a rotating internship at Tufts, followed by a specialty internship in small animal surgery at the Veterinary Specialty Hospital of San Diego, and a surgical residency at VCA West Los Angeles Animal Hospital.

Dr. Bergen became a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons (Small Animal) in 2025 and practiced as a staff surgeon at VCA California Veterinary Specialists in Carlsbad, California, before returning to the East Coast. Her professional interests include orthopedics, minimally invasive surgery, and surgical oncology.

When not in the hospital, Dr. Bergen enjoys hiking, climbing, and spending time with family and friends.
